Rapid Impact Compaction Operation for Backfill at Yangshan Port Phase III in 2008

Yangshan Port is located in Shengsi County, Zhejiang Province,    and consists of the Dayang Mountain Port Area    and the Xiaoyang Mountain Port Area.    With 4,900 meters of developable deep-water shoreline,    it serves as the deep-water port area of the Shanghai International Shipping Center.

Treatment Solution: During Phase III of Yangshan Port in 2008,    the backfill material mainly consisted of marine sand.    The treatment was primarily carried out in the pipeline areas,    with a maximum treatment depth of 3.8 meters. HC36 equipment was used and delivered excellent compaction performance,    successfully meeting the design requirement of 95% compaction density.    During the treatment process, noticeable vibrations were observed on the pipe walls at a depth of 3.8 m,    while the pipe joints remained intact    with no misalignment.
